Why Go Raw?
Going Raw seems to be trending bigger and bigger as the year continues on and as more and more people start making healthier and better choices for their health and their lives. As a Certified Raw Chef and doing a demo for some lovely ladies this past Saturday it was so inspiring to see how excited everyone got and how surprised they all were that choosing raw meals was a lot easier and more fun than they thought. So, why should you go raw and is it right for you?Choosing a raw diet means making lots of new decisions for your health including consuming foods that have not been cooked over 115 degrees or processed in any way. Organic foods should be the basis for a raw diet and you can't forget all the benefits that come with raw food.Benefits include a youthful appearance, higher energy levels, loss of excess weight, total wellness, detoxification, chronic illness prevention, they boost emotional balance, and slow the aging process just to name a few.Raw foods have higher nutrient values than cooked foods. Foods lose most of their nutrients when they are cooked, eating them as fresh as possible and raw ensures you get the most vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. Eating raw makes you feel better, lighter, and cleaner. Cutting out processed foods, sugar, caffeine, fried foods, and white flour will keep you more energized and could prevent heart disease and cancer. Now the only choice is.. is it right for you? You don't have to choose to go completely raw. Just opting for one raw meal a day can make all the difference in your health, diet, and life. If choosing a raw diet is something you are thinking of trying, make sure to transition into it slowly and remember it's not a quick fix for weight loss. If you have any serious digestive issues such as Crohn's, IBS, or colitis definitely ease into a raw diet and check with your doctor. Raw diets are also not appropriate for infants or children. Remember choosing to go raw means choosing a lifestyle. GO RAW!
