How to Cope with Anxiety & Overwhelm

Coping with Anxiety & Overwhelm

HOW'S YOUR ANXIETY? Feeling Really Overwhelmed?

Anyone else feel like a roller coaster of emotion? One day you totally got this! The next you feel like you could shut down, curl into a ball and cry all day?

Yea I am with you! I think we all are. The unknown and fear tactics are definitely doing a number on everyone's mental and emotional health. And we have to be aware of that for the future. Things you do now will help you take control of your mental and emotional well being for the future.

Believe me I am the first to tell you how quickly PTSD can take over your life, control you and leave you and everything you've dreamed of left behind. I've dealt with traumatizing things more than once in my life and it can leave you debilitated and frozen in fear. The situation the world is facing is not an easy one and with a little bit of open mindedness, some work and a little hope and faith you'll be on your way to a healthy mindset.

Here are three things to help keep your anxiety in check and remember we're all in this together!! Just reach out if you need a virtual hug!!

MOVE YOUR BODY

It's easy to want to stay in your pajamas all day and veg especially since we are out of our daily routines and having to think outside the box. Movement boosts your mood, gets your blood flowing and reduces stress, so...exercise, workout, or find movement. What ever you like to call it, just do it! Every day for at least 20 minutes it is guaranteed to change your mind, body and soul.

STAY CONNECTED

Need social interaction to feel alive? Are you a hugger? (This is got to be really hard on you!) Love spending time with friends and family? It's hard not to feel isolated in all this and to feel like you're losing a lot. You are!! Don't get me wrong, but thankfully we're all in this together so everyone can relate. So send a text, call a friend, face time, write a letter, curl up with your loved one and snuggle with your fur babies.

SELF CARE

Self care is so important now. And it's always the last thing we do! Make sure to take care of yourself so you can take care of others!! Don't forget to sleep well, eat better, breathe, take a bath, read a book, paint your nails, pray, meditate, plant flowers, cook, sing, dance …whatever brings you joy.

Let us know what you're doing to control your anxiety! We'd love to hear from you and other ideas you may have!
